Ben Hall, who plays Ned Willis on Neighbours, has revealed some unfinished plots for his character.
The soap star was asked if he’d ever presented ideas to individuals in high places during an exclusive interview with Digital Spy.
“I’ll tell you about the ones I don’t think will ever make it to the screen!” he affirmed before setting the scene: “I’ll give you the ones that I don’t think are ever going to make it onto the screen!”
“Back when Ned was working at The Hive and doing all this art stuff, I pitched a storyline in which he went back to secretly producing street art.”
“He’d become Erinsborough’s Banksy, and no one would know who he was,” Hall continued, “but his work would start to garner a lot of support.”
“He’d develop a cult following and begin to amass vast sums of money!” For the first time in his life, Ned would be successful – his endeavors’ almost always fail in some way! That sounds like a great time.”
In another, as-yet-unsuccessful proposal, the Ned actor tossed a curveball at producers, but one that, if we’re being honest, has a lot of legs.
“Another idea I made not long ago was to form a volunteer fire department because we already have a police station, a hospital, and physicians. I reasoned that he and Kyle could volunteer and there would be stories.” He was making a point.
“I anticipated we’d be rescuing a lot of cats from trees and whatnot, but I decided it’d make for a good story, especially since they’d finished the training together.”
