Following the massive outrage over Nicolette Stone’s abduction, Chloe Brennan of Neighbours is enticed by Leo Tanaka on Australian screens next week.
Leo (Tim Kano), who has affections for his ex, has been plotting to put a rift between Chloe (April Rose Pengilly) and Nicolette for several weeks (Charlotte Chimes). He ultimately approaches Chloe and leans in for a kiss.
Chloe is still battling with her connection with Nicolette in forthcoming scenes on 10 Peach, according to TV Week magazine.
The couple is engaged, but Chloe thinks things are moving too fast.
She tells Nicolette she’ll be staying at Number 32 with Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson) and David Tanaka because she needs some space (Takaya Honda). She ends up spending the night with Leo in the vineyard, oblivious to his love for her.
“She begs the guys to cover for her with Nicolette to give her some time and space without troubling her excessively,” actress April Rose Pengilly told the newspaper.
The next morning, though, she is hungover with a fuzzy recollection and only wearing Leo’s jacket. She is soon overcome by remorse, as she has no recollection of what transpired with Leo.
Chloe prepares to tell Nicolette the truth, but Nic has already deduced her girlfriend’s deception.
After watching some video from Jane Harris and Clive Gibbons’ submission for the local film festival, Nicolette makes the connection – and realises Chloe stayed at the vineyard with Leo instead than with David and Aaron.
When Nicolette asks Chloe what’s really going on, she’s left saddened when she learns that she has no recollection of what occurred with Leo the night before.
Nicolette is hurt and deceived by the three of them when she discovers David and Aaron were also engaged in the deception. She eventually flees, causing Aaron and David great concern as they lead a hunt for her.
David holds Leo responsible for all that has transpired, but Leo refuses to accept guilt and claims that David should not have chosen Nicolette as their baby’s surrogate. David lashes out at his brother, striking him in the face.
Later, Chloe and Leo hang out together, unhappy by the criticism and feeling marginalised while the search for Nicolette continues.
Leo takes advantage of the opportunity to go closer to Chloe and attempt to kiss her. How will Chloe react if she is sober?
In five weeks, these scenes will air in the United Kingdom.
