Melissa George is the picture of Parisian chic as she graces the red carpet in a shimmering ensemble at Cannes Film Festival in France

Melissa George posed for photos on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday evening, looking lovely in white.

The 44-year-old Australian actress attended a screening of De Son Vivant (Peaceful) in the French Riviera resort town wearing an exquisite white Armani suit.

Melissa looked stunning in the tiny gown, which had glittering white flared pants that perfectly highlighted her thin pins.

She wore them with a lace bodysuit, which she accessorized with a black scarf and a hanging pendant that hung from her waist.

A silver jacket draped across her shoulders completed the outfit, which she completed with a black clutch purse and a gold bracelet.

Melissa’s hair was styled in a formal up-do, highlighting her chiselled cheekbones and stunning features.

Emmanuelle Bercot’s film Peaceful, also known as De Son Vivant in French, stars Catherine Deneuve, Cécile de France, and Benoît Maximal in the major characters.

Three people are featured in the film: a kid (Magimel) who is diagnosed with cancer, his mother (Deneuve) and her effort to help him, and a nurse (de France) who is attempting to perform her job.

After being cancelled last year because to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Cannes Film Festival is currently on its fifth day.

Melissa and her two kids, Raphael, seven, and Solal, five, presently reside in Paris.

Melissa publicly stated in 2012 to The Sydney Morning Herald that she would not return to Australia because she was tired of the local media being “disrespectful” by highlighting her position on Home and Away.

‘I don’t need my country’s credibility any longer; all I need is for everyone to remain silent.’ Please don’t speak to me any longer if they have nothing intelligent to say,’ she pleaded.

‘I’d rather be walking my French bulldog in New York City or eating a croissant and a cup of coffee in Paris.’

She then changed her mind after briefly returning to Australia to film the Channel Nine programme Bad Mothers.

‘Whenever I come to Australia, I feel whole,’ Melissa said in a promotional interview for the 2019 season with TV Week magazine.

She spent 10 days filming Bad Mothers in Melbourne in 2018 and credits the experience with helping her “reconnect” with Australian culture.

‘It was a fantastic opportunity to return home and work with Australian talent.’ ‘That’s why I’m doing it,’ she explained.

‘I’d argue that a lot of Australian talent is compelled to move overseas because of the way things are.’ But when we go home, it’s like the last piece of the puzzle has fallen into place.’
