Tammin Sursok, an actress, has opened out about her husband Sean McEwen’s fight with Covid-19 earlier this year.
On Tuesday, the former Home and Away actress, 38, told Daily Mail Australia that film producer Sean, 47, is still dealing with the virus’s aftereffects.
Tammin acknowledged that seeing her husband unwell was “one of the worst things I’ve ever had,” and that she didn’t know whether he would make it.
‘It was a nightmare. It was definitely the most traumatic event I’ve ever had. ‘I wasn’t sure whether he was going to make it,’ Tammin added.
‘Days eight through ten were really challenging. He had a high fever that didn’t go away for two and a half weeks.’
She went on to say, ‘It took him months to recover.’ ‘He experienced hallucinations,’ says the narrator. It was a difficult situation to handle, and we’re thankful he’s okay.’
Sean now has memory problems and is often tired, according to Tammin.
‘He’s still battling,’ she added, describing his symptoms as “a lot of joint pain, weariness, borderline chronic fatigue, and memory difficulties.”
People need to realise that the illness affects everyone, regardless of age, according to the Pretty Little Liars actress.
‘Sometimes it’s said that Covid-19 is for elderly individuals with underlying illnesses.’ But my spouse is young and lacks all of those qualities,’ she explained.
‘You have no idea how Covid will impact you, and that is the frightening thing about this virus… that is why we must attempt to protect ourselves.’
Sean had coronavirus in January and lost 6.8kg as a result of his sickness.
Tammin is now filming the movie You, Me, and the Penguins and the TV programme The Good Hustle in Australia with his family.
They’ll remain in Australia for at least three months before heading back to the United States.
Because of the border restrictions and lockdowns, Tammin hasn’t been allowed to see her parents or family while in Australia.
Tammin encouraged her Australian followers to keep their heads up after spending much of last year under lockdown in America.
‘We’re delighted to come back, and the next three months will be exciting,’ she added. ‘I hope everyone is doing well in lockdown – and know that things will get better.’
