Penny McNamee, star of Home and Away, isn’t going anywhere anytime soon as one of the millions of Sydneysiders — and now Victorians – presently in lockdown.
But that didn’t stop her from celebrating the birthday of her longtime husband, Matt Tooker, while the rest of their family was stuck at home.
Penny and Matt had an NBA-themed at-home party with their five-year-old son Jack and two-year-old daughter Neve.
The entire family was dressed in NBA jerseys, and the birthday cake was shaped like a basketball.
“Wishing our MVP a very happy birthday!!!! ” The image was captioned by Penny, who plays Tori Morgan. “#LockdownNBAparty”.
Penny and Matt were high school sweethearts, and the actress has talked openly about how much she loves her spouse.
“I met Matt in high school when we were 16 years old, and we married in our mid-twenties. She gushed to New Idea in January, “He’s my rock, my safe haven, and my closest friend.”
“‘The most crucial professional decision a woman will make is the person she marries,’ Sheryl Sandberg famously said, and I couldn’t agree with her more.”
Penny stated in a prior interview with New Idea in 2018 that she and Matt met in a “nerdy” fashion.
She admitted, “It was 1999 during our school’s music camp.”
“I’d just arrived at the school, and Matt was a member of the choir and was playing the French horn in the symphony – if it gets any nerdier!”
