In forthcoming scenes, the body of scheming Susie McAllister (Bridie Carter) washes ashore on the beach.
After the finding is made, the inhabitants of Summer Bay are shocked and finger-pointing begins.
Since Susie came in town earlier this year, she’s been causing trouble.
By trade, she is an expert at manipulating others. She deceived both Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan (James Stewart) out of 90,000 dollars in savings, and fooled John Palmer (Shanan Withington) into thinking she was in love with him.
Since she went missing with Leah and Justin’s money for a house deposit, numerous members of the Channel 5 soap have been trying all they can to find her.
The hunt was led by Leah, with help from John and another victim of Susie’s mind tricks, Stephen (Bren Foster).
However, their research has been unsuccessful, and Summer Bay’s finest will learn that Susie is truly dead next week.
The search for a murderer begins when the death is deemed suspicious by the authorities.
However, with nearly everyone wanting Susie’s avengement, the issue remains: who killed her?
Irene Roberts
After confronting the schemer in dramatic circumstances that concluded with Irene being chloroformed, Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) was the last person to see Susie alive.
The soap legend has been on a well-deserved vacation, but her rest is cut short when she returns to the Bay to learn of Susie’s death.
Could Irene be to blame for Susie’s death if she had a strong enough motive?
‘Of course, Irene and Susie have had a tumultuous relationship since Susie arrived in the Bay,’ Lynne responded, ‘but I don’t believe Irene would be capable of such a horrible thing.’
‘However, given the appropriate circumstances, anyone can do anything at any moment.’
Leah Patterson
Susie cheated Leah out of her house deposit, therefore she’s a plausible suspect. Could she have found the missing schemer? The Summer Bay legend has been spearheading the search for the missing schemer in recent weeks.
Could there have been a disagreement that led in Susie paying the ultimate price?
Ada Nicademou, a Greek actress, disagrees.
‘Even though Susie had caused Leah and Justin so much pain, she wanted Susie to go to prison so that justice might be served.
‘Leah would never want someone to suffer like that.’
Despite Ada’s trust in Leah’s integrity, the police continue to question her.
Justin Morgan
Justin, like Leah, was furious when he realised Susie had taken off with his money, giving him a clear reason to seek vengeance.
Is he, however, capable of murder?
Ada claims that once Stephen places the thought in Leah’s brain, she begins to question whether her lover was to blame for Susie’s death!
‘After Stephen questions Leah about Justin’s participation, Leah’s faith in Justin’s innocence progressively erodes as she sits down and considers what Justin has just done, and if he might be capable of it,’ she continued.
‘It’s a tragedy when the corpse washes up in the Bay, but it’s not high on Justin’s priority list,’ James Stewart, who portrays Justin, said. That’s exactly where Justin’s thoughts are right now; he simply wants and needs to get home and take some more medicine.
‘There’s also a tiny amount of “serves you right,” which Justin thinks is extremely unthinking and heartless.’
Justin will be seen wandering around town with blood on his hands in the following scenes, but did he kill Susie in a violent act of revenge?
John Palmer
Susie’s deceit had a significant impact on John.
He not only lost all of his money, but he also fell in love with her and let her into his house.
He was shattered after learning of her treachery, and he has since assisted Leah in her search for her.
John was desperate to contact Susie, to the point that he set up a meeting after getting text messages claiming to be from her.
Could he have arranged a meeting in secret, given how badly he needed answers?
And, if so, was there a murder?
Stephen
Stephen arrived in the Bay very recently in order to aid Leah in her search for Susie.
Why? Because, like John and Leah, Susie duped him, and her deception resulted in the dissolution of his marriage, as well as a profession in shambles.
But how much do you truly know about him? Not much at all! Could he have met with Susie in secret to exact vengeance?
Perhaps he had ulterior motivations because he encouraged Leah to slow down the search at one point?
