As Justin (James Stewart) continues to fight his painkiller addiction, Leah (Ada Nicodemou) has been suffering with Justin’s (James Stewart) destructive behaviour in recent weeks, and her only escape appears to be Stephen (Bren Foster). Stephen finds her as she comes from the hospital with Justin and asks if she wants to go for a stroll, which brightens her mood.
Stephen is perplexed as to how Susie’s (Bridie Carter) phone got into Justin’s car, and Leah’s faith in her boyfriend begins to erode as she considers his recent aggressive behaviour. However, she is defensive in front of Stephen about what he is insinuating.
Leah discloses the whole scope of Justin’s behaviour in the Diner with Marilyn (Emily Symons) and Roo (Georgie Parker) — the blackouts and his recent worry that he may have murdered someone in a hit-and-run. Her pals are taken aback when she begins to wonder if Justin is indeed capable of murder.
As Leah mulls on Justin’s words and behaviour, she comes to a single conclusion and is lured to Stephen’s hotel room. When she arrives in the morning, he is there to console her in her hour of need, and she sobs.
She tries to explain Justin’s actions by claiming that he was pushed over the brink or that it was an accident. Stephen points out that it doesn’t excuse what he did, and they exchange a glance.
Is Leah planning to start an affair with Stephen, as Justin believes she is already doing?
