Christian (Ditch Davey) has lately gotten engrossed in doing surgery and providing aftercare for a new patient, Rachel, whom he met on an impetuous excursion to a skydiving site (Marny Kennedy). Tori (Penny McNamee) has been left sad and perplexed as he has chosen to disregard their wedding day in order to spend time in the hospital with the mysterious visitor.
Rachel feels reluctant when Christian informs her it’s time for her to be freed from the hospital. He tells her she’s ready, but Christian gets the opposite reaction as he leaves her room, as Jasmine (Sam Frost) tells him how he’s treating Tori.
Later, Christian goes to Rachel’s chamber to bid her goodbye, but he is taken aback when Rachel reaches out to touch him lovingly. He realises he’s been sending her the incorrect impression and makes it plain that their connection is strictly doctor-patient.
Rachel explores the Bay the day she is released, sending Christian a farewell text about how they will be reunited in another life. Meanwhile, Justin (James Stewart) is still struggling with his addiction and meets up with a sketchy character to pick up another batch of drugs.
He takes a dosage and drives wildly down the street, feeling the effects of the unknown drugs.
He then passes out and awakens in his vehicle, which is parked on the side of the road. When an ambulance races down the street, he realises Rachel has been the victim of a hit-and-run.
Is Justin to blame for Rachel’s mishap, and will she be able to recover?
