Dean (Patrick O’Connor) is growing increasingly anxious about his sister Mackenzie (Emily Weir), who has been missing for many days. Nobody has seen her, and his worries are heightened when he discovers her phone hidden beneath a sofa cushion, despite the fact that she is seldom seen without it.
He eventually comes to the conclusion that there is nothing he can do and goes to the police station. Dean believes the officers would tell him it’s not a huge problem, but newbie Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) argues they should act if they’re worried, so Dean fills out a missing person report.
Stephen (Bren Foster) is taken to the hospital after being beaten up by an unstable Justin (James Stewart) who believes he is having an affair with Leah, and Dean isn’t the only one who pays a call to the station (Ada Nicodemou). He informs Tori (Penny McNamee) that Justin is the perpetrator of the attack, and officers are despatched to apprehend him.
Tori goes to the police and is taken aback when she sees her brother in custody. She informs Cash that he needs a night in the cell to wake him up from his bad habits. Cash says he’ll ‘take a while with the paperwork,’ and Justin is left alone with his thoughts for the evening.
Tori bails Justin out of the station the next day, just as Cash receives word that a corpse has been discovered floating in the Bay.
A mob forms on the shore as he runs out to assist in its rescue. Dean begins to dread the worst when Ryder (Lukas Radovich) tells him it’s a female corpse…
