Home and Away RECAP: Beef between the youth of Summer Bay

Is the group going to reunite?

It’s a topic on everyone’s mind. Well, ‘everyone is a little ambitious, but certain fans and characters are talking about it. They talk about it so much that my attention span is quickly dwindling.

Summer Bay has a history of being a hotbed of youthful angst, and while the present residents may be angsty, they aren’t teenagers. Except for Chloe, Nik, Ryder, and Bella, who are clinging to their youth and camaraderie despite their apparent feud.

They’d have no one else to hang out with and whine to about being broke (although Chloe has admitted she needs a job) over the never-ending supply of diner milkshakes if they weren’t the only young people in town, so it’ll only be a matter of time until they reignite.

But today isn’t that night, so there’s a lot of back-and-forths, he-said, she-said shenanigans, culminating with Chloe dubbing Bella an “emotionless maniac.” To my disappointment, not to her face.

Since the news broke that Nikau had cheated on Bella with his mentor, Chloe has sided with Nik, while Ryder has sided with Bella.

Nik also struck Ryder in the face at some point, leaving him with a swollen lip.

Ryder tells Bella, “After I heard what he did to you, I put him in his place, and then he placed me on the ground.”

Chloe appears to be unaffected by the explosion, and she, like this person, has made a miraculous recovery in the Bay.

Emmett has been hesitant to inform Bella that he is leaving the beautiful yet crime-plagued beaches of Summer Bay for New York because he believes that telling her after her big-city photo show is set up would cushion the blow.

Mac comments of the new work, “You’ll be terrific,” while biting her tongue as the dating pool gets increasingly bleak.

Dean has decided to participate since that’s what he does.

Dean asks Mac, “What’s the story between you and your old mate?”

Mac invents an excuse about not being “ready to date,” yet he is eager to return to Dean’s home.

Returning to Chloe. She slams the “poxy restaurant,” saying it would be beneath her to work at a place that doesn’t even have a cocktail bar, but she reluctantly submits her CV nonetheless.

Mia, her mother, is also scheduled for a 12-week ultrasound.

Mia and Ari are overjoyed, which is generally the precursor to bad news such as the loss of a child.

In other news, following their Kieran-escape absence, Alf and Martha have returned to the bay

It appears to be a huge issue, so for anybody (like me) who needs a reminder on why it’s essential, Martha’s now-recovering alcoholic son apologized to his mother in a letter and requested time apart to think about it owing to her recent delicate mental condition.

Their reappearance seemed to be unexpected, particularly for Roo.

“First and foremost,” Martha states.

“Let’s speak about Kieran,” says the narrator.

This installment, as well as whatever is going on between Tori and Budget McDreamy, is eagerly awaited.
