Luke Mitchell, the Australian actor, and model who portrayed Romeo Smith, the cheeky and endearing teenager on Home And Away, has clearly grown up.
Fans have dubbed the 36-year-old “so hot” after he posted a photo on Instagram that looks nothing like his Summer Bay persona.
The actor uploaded the snapshot on social media to commemorate the debut episode of his new TV program, The Republic Of Sarah, wearing a grey turtleneck and a serious pout.
The Australian drama series depicts a rebellious high school teacher who is up against a mining business bent on destroying their community.
Luke has been a part of a number of Hollywood projects since relocating to the United States.
Luke, who was born on the Gold Coast, first appeared on Australian television in 2008 in a recurrent role on Neighbours. He played Chris Knight, the “bad guy,” for 11 episodes until his character was killed off.
Luke next starred in H2O: Just Add Water, an adolescent drama series, before joining the cast of Home And Away in 2009.
During his four years on the show, the Australian actor received the Logie Award for Most Popular New Male Talent.
He has appeared in a variety of US television programmes during his time in Summer Bay, including Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Luke also starred opposite Michael B. Jordan in the action thriller Without Remorse earlier this year.
Many fans will be pleased to learn that he has been married to Rebecca Breeds, a fellow Australian actor, since 2013. They met on the set of Home And Away in 2013.
In a recent interview with Now To Love, the former heartthrob said he’d be open to returning to the Australian soap show that helped launch his career.
He stated, “I have really warm recollections of Home And Away.”
“I’m not sure whether a fun, tiny cameo or anything like a dream sequence would be possible, but if it made sense and worked out scheduling-wise, why not?”
