EastEnders viewers finally discovered more about Gray Atkins past as his sick father confirmed he was violent as a child.
Yesterday (September 16) Gray received a phone call from his father, Alex – someone he hadn’t heard from in over ten years.
Gray discovered his father was dying in a hospice and was requesting to see him.
After some encouragement from Whitney (Shona McGarty), tonight, Gray paid a visit to his dad.
With Whitney out of the room, Alex opened up to Gray about the neglection he received as a child and how much he regrets working all hours.
Alex confirmed that he knew Gray and his mother weren’t living in a happy home, and knew they should’ve ‘kept more of an eye’ on their troubled son.
‘Your mother’s arm in a sling!’, Alex said after recognising Gray still clearly had anger issues.
‘A black eye! Your mother always adored you, she always had an excuse!’, he went on to say.
As Gray continued to pass the clear abuse off as accidents, Alex sat in his bed, knowing he was looking at his violent son.
Taking a hold of the situation, Gray then threatened Alex and stormed out, leaving the unwell father alone.
But will we discover more about Gray’s childhood?
