EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton explains why her baby’s name is Aura.

The reason for her daughter’s name has been explained by Louisa Lytton, who plays Aura in EastEnders.

The actress, who plays Ruby Allen in the BBC One drama, gave birth to her daughter Aura last month and welcomed her into the world on Loose Women on Thursday (October 7).

‘We had a wishlist of girls’ and boys’ names, but we forgot about the girls’ names,’ she explained, referring to her daughter’s moniker.

‘Ben found it somewhere when we got her, and it was such a shock to the system that we didn’t name her for the first few days because we hadn’t thought about it, so we went back to the list and it appeared to be the name that best fit her.’

Louisa, 32, also revealed that she and her fiancé Ben Bhanvra both tested positive for Covid-19 shortly after Aura arrived, and as a result, they haven’t had many visitors.

‘We haven’t had many visits yet because we got Covid so soon after having her, which is a shame, but everyone [from EastEnders] has been in touch and I’ve been sending images,’ she revealed.

‘I’m sure people will come to see what we have now that the doors are open, which will be fantastic.’
The soap star also discussed motherhood and how she’s adjusting to it, telling the Loose Women that “nothing prepares you” for having a child.
‘I read every book, talked to every friend, and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us, but it’s tough,’ she continued.

Ben has been amazing. Even having them present during the labor was a huge blessing.

‘Obviously, there was a time when women had to do it alone, which is terrible, but since we’ve had her, I’ve been feeding, so that’s pretty much the only thing he can’t help with – he’s been fantastic with everything else.’ He’s a father who takes an active role in his children’s lives.’

Louisa recently wrapped filming on EastEnders, and her final scenes aired in September when Ruby Allen was captured by the police after her trickery and plotting backfired dramatically.

Despite her claims, viewers quickly discovered that Ruby was actually pregnant at the time of her arrest.

Meanwhile, Martin Fowler (James Bye) has tasted her wrath since she booted him out of the club and had Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) fire him.
