Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) faces difficulties in Coronation Street as the Platt family becomes concerned about her mental condition. Could she, however, acquire dementia in the near future?
Audrey is disappointed when Gail (Helen Worth) organizes a surprise party for her and only Gail, Sarah (Tina O’Brien), and David (Jack P Shepherd) show up.
Audrey is irritated by her old-lady gifts after refusing a drink, and she yells at Gail for remarking on her squinting to read.
Audrey becomes enraged and rushes out when Rita (Barbara Knox) shows up, seeking to bury the hatchet.
Audrey climbs into the car and, to her surprise, hears a loud crunch.
Audrey accuses Gail and Sarah of being ageist after realizing she had struck Rita’s car. They worry about whether she is losing her wits.
Audrey maintains her denial and is subsequently brought to No.8 where Gail, David, and Shona (Julia Goulding) interrogate her about her vision.
Audrey refuses to push into getting an eye exam and tells Gail flat out that all of her organs are in great functioning condition.
But what really is Audrey’s problem?
Is it possible that she has dementia?
Is she suffering from some other ailment?
